Founder's Note

Leftraru Strategies was created to bridge lived experience with movement work, transforming how organizations build power.

I am an immigrant from Chile, raised by farmworkers and domestic workers. I have spent much of my life navigating systems that were not designed for people like my family. That experience shaped how I see power, culture, and communication. It is why I founded LefTraru Strategies.

Over the last decade, working in the NGO and movement-building space, I've seen progressive organizations struggle to connect with immigrant and working-class communities, particularly Latino communities. Too often, we are treated as a single audience, stripped of our histories, cultures, and political complexity. When movements fail to honor that nuance, they lose our trust... and they lose campaigns and elections.

I am a political scientist, sociologist, former teacher, and popular educator. I approach strategy with rigorous political analysis and deep respect for the knowledge that already exists within our communities. Growing up in the Global South gave me firsthand insight into how culture, class, and survival shape political behavior. Movements become powerful when they speak to people's lived realities, not just their demographics.

LefTraru Strategies helps grassroots organizations and progressive movements bridge the gap between strategy and community. My work centers on culture, language, and political education as essential tools for power-building. This includes digital strategy, narrative development, or online-to-offline organizing that moves people to action.

Latino communities are decisive in progressive change. True impact means building real trust and strategies alongside working-class communities, not just targeting them.
